Dreamin' 4

Costa Maya was going to be a short day and we got a late start. I woke up not wanting to really get off the boat, but I hadn't been to Costa Maya and I should at least walk around. My friend wanted to go to the beach again and though I had said I didn't want to go to the beach again (after 2 hours of pure sun on my pale skin the day before) I don't think she thought I was serious. So we got off the ship and were walking down the pier and ran into a tablemate. He had walked around, but didn't go anywhere. My friend explained about the beach and so he decided to go with us. I thought this was great b/c she had someone to go to the beach with after all. We shopped around and I snagged some abstract pictures and then I walked with them to the taxi bay. They bought their tickets and when they turned to me to get one I said again I didn't want to go out in the sun. There was a little bit of huffing and puffing on their part, but they went anyway.

This was probably 1 or 2 moments that my friend and I went a little against the grain with each other. For seven days, in a room together, having never only met on a previous cruise and called each other........pretty good I'd say.

Sorry for the run ons........

Anyway, ran into Howard and his roomie while taking a few more pictures and doing some shopping (great buys here). He was in rare form. I told him that I was going back to the ship b/c I had to protect my fair skin. He then reached up and touched my chest area (I had on a halter) and poked at the pink on my chest. I guess old men can get away with this, lol. I bought a few things and then wondered back to the ship. We had to leave at 2:30, so I went back to our room, threw on a robe (we were in the shade of another ship, so it was a little chilly in the shade, and took a FANTASTIC nap on our balcony!!!!!!!

When my friend came back I had to explain my strange behavior, but I think she understood and then we headed up to the spa. I believe this was the day we had treatments. She had one the next day too with what she won in the spa drawing. It was perfect. Right before dinner on an elegant night I think. The only thing I would suggest is, getting a treatment room that isn't on the second level of the spa if possible. Mine was up the spiral stairs and to left when you get up there. It was lovely and the lady was really nice, but I guess we were below the slides or something and people kept running and it was like the floorboards were lose above. It would shake me out of relaxation. Not Carnival's fault. I'll have to look at the deck plans to see what is up there.

Anyway, I went to the spa showers again, we had dinner, the show (Dancing in the Streets and yes it is WONDERFUL!), some dancing, karaoke and bed.

The last day we slept in and really took things slow. I laid on the balcony again, my friend on deck. We were suppose to meet for tea time, but I slept right through it. My friend then came back and she went off with me to bingo for the free cruise one. Once again we went to the spa. Our last visit.......Oh how I miss it. I got so relaxed most times i would start snoring and have to wake myself up, lol.

I went to Legends show alone that night as the others went to the casino. I made sure to sit near the front so the cruise director "Dolly" would toss me a ship on a stick. An easy way of getting one, but I still got one!!! Oh, Butch was the cruise director. I LOVE HIM. Such a crush on him too. I like geeky dudes.

One night I went to the show with everyone and then I wanted to go to the comedy show, but they didn't. I went alone. It was packed, so I sat in the corner by myself. The "extras" from the chipmunk movie sat right up front. The comic had some fun with them. At some point a really drunk guy came and sat on one side of me. I could smell him a mile away. But hey, its your cruise have fun. I told him he could move down further b/c of one of those poles in the way, but he made a crude remark about the pole being one with him.........He started talking to me, but I haven't translated "drunk" since college so it was hard. At one point I think he was hitting on me, but instead gave me a backhanded compliment. Then, in the middle of the show, he hopped over the back of the couch thing and went out a side exit. Okay.

They still have color wars btw. This time I got into it. I was by myself......oops this was the 3rd time my friend I had a moment.....b/c she wanted to go to the casino and I didn't. I went off and danced with Butch, sang karaoke, learned a fun dance with Baby Butch, and then headed up to the deck for some line dances. It was great fun. I didn't care if I was by myself. Some others on my team talked to me and we laughed and some stuff. It was fun.

Debark was normal. We were off by 8:30 am I think. My flight wasn't until 3pm, so I wasn't in a hurry, but my friend's was at 12pm. The drive was fine and I waited around the airport to check in then took a few naps while waiting for my plane. (I was exhausted!!!!!)

But I loved the Dream so much I decided to go on her again in October for my bday cruise with a friend from high school and I can't wait!!! Spa here I come!!!!
