Give them Freedom-A Cruise Tale Pt 3

Day 3-San Juan

We didn’t get into San Juan until 4pm, so we didn’t have a lot of time to do daylight activities. We didn’t plan any excursions, so we played each port by ear. When we got outside of the port a guy approached us and said he would give us an hour tour for $10. It was a good price, so we said yes. I don’t remember his name, but they had on yellow shirts and they were “Happy something tours.” He took us to the Capital building and the overlook right across from it. He drove us through the city and around the forts. We got out at the commentary and got some great sunset pics. He was very knowledgeable about San Juan and its history. We even got to go into room when their House was in session. They dropped us off at the shopping district and told us how to get back to the ships from there. You had the choice of staying on the bus and going back to the boat instead of shopping. We walked down the street and there were plenty of souvenir shops, so we bought a few things. Also, it’s a good time to buy some snacks or drinks at a better price. We thought about going to Senior Frogs, but they were charging a cover charge and friends that we passed said it wasn’t anything special. So we made our way back to the ship, as it was dark, and made it just in time for dinner.

This statue looks like he is flipping you off, but he is putting to God

Every “house” is painted a different color. It lets you know a new property had begun

If you look way in the back at the green building that is the smallest property in San Juan. You can put both arms out to the side and touch both walls.

Sorry I don’t remember much more.

We had a nice dinner and of course we went the dance club until the wee hours.

Next up, St. Thomas.
